• The firm's attitude is not to keep on people who aren't good enough or do not fit, but to keep everybody that it wants to. will try to retain as many trainees as possible, and this number is dependent on business need. This contrasts with the attitude of other City firms which is that, as a starting point, only 70% of trainees will be kept.

• The office is generally busy and the 2010 intake is particularly small. I am therefore quite confident of being kept on.

• I am looking forward to qualification - we are a small intake (9) and the firm emphasises its desire to keep as many trainees as possible.
