  • Many people contribute to pro bono and there are a lot of charity events to raise money for our charity of the year.

  • There is definitely a strong devotion to pro bono work at Mayer Brown. We have a partner who focuses solely on pro bono work, and she sends emails to the firm with details of various schemes that you can get involved with. I have done sessions at the RCJ Advice Bureau and the Mediation Advice Clinic, for example.

  • There is a pro bono partner. Pro bono counts to billable hours only after the minimum billing target has been reached (1650) but is capped at 200 hours a year. There's no minimum quota. I have undertaken a couple of confidential pro bono matters this year.
