How much importance does your firm place on green initiatives and what are firm’s efforts in this area?

  • Running one of the largest fleets in the world means we contribute a lot of CO2. We are certainly industry leaders in our ‘green initiatives’. To name a couple; we have our 50 million tree pledge, we help fund an alternative fuel research project and currently offer a carbon offset to out renters.

  • Enterprise Rent-A-Car has its own dedicated environmental programme, Keys to Green – we are all encouraged to play our part. It’s not just something on a poster either, wherever you are at Enterprise Rent-A-Car you can see evidence of our environmental platform and what we are doing to make a difference.

  • We organise initiatives to reduce carbon emissions, we take part in community initiatives to assist with the landscape and nature. I personally drive this so know how committed we are, and won an award recently for our environmental involvement and dedication.

  • Over the last three years we have centralised much of our systems cutting down on major wastage in paper, postage and fuel.

  • This has been much more of a focus in recent years with the initiatives on planting 50 million trees across the world, and also with offering the carbon offset option here in the UK. Additionally, we are evaluating our use of energy and working on becoming more green in this area as well.

  • Our company has a green committee and has invested money in several green schemes including research into alternative fuels, the planting of 50 million trees and a carbon offsetting program.

  • Although we are a car rental provider, there is a strong global corporate commitment to reducing our carbon footprint by donating to bio-fuel research facilities, planting trees and offering carbon offsetting to our customers. At a local level, there is some recycling, etc., But not as many green initiatives as there could be.

  • We work with cars so our carbon foot print could be huge. Enterprise takes it very seriously. To combat this Enterprise offers customers a carbon offset programme to allow people to reduce the impact on the environment. We are also trailing an hourly rental programme so that people can run more of a sort of ‘car share programme’ which can reduce omissions. They also invest millions into renewable fuel research to try and find better sources of fuel. In our rental branches we have inbuilt car wash machines, these are all fitted to recycle water so that we are not using unnecessary clean water. For our 50th anniversary, Enterprise pledged to plant 50 million trees over the next 50 years. Finally on a local level we all recycle.

  • We have lots of schemes and initiatives from a global level of planting 50 million trees, to local community development volunteering projects and fund raising events. We are also investing tens of millions into renewable fuel research.
