  • We received a good salary for the South West and it is much higher than what other firms pay in Plymouth.

  • Good for the area (Plymouth), poor compared with the big firms it aspires to be like.

  • Pay is good but as we like to compete with the big players in Bristol we should be paid the same too. Pay in other offices (i.e. Plymouth), however, is very good in comparison to other local firms.

  • Pay is average for the market but probably higher than most other regional firms. The bonuses are fees linked which can make it difficult to achieve when you don't have your own matters.

    Helpful?
  • The salary is good, although lower than other firms that the firm aligns itself with.

    Helpful?
  • Pay good in comparison to other firms in this area, but below other firms in same commercial space/competitors.

  • The pay is good but gone are the days where being a lawyer meant you were guaranteed a great income.

    Helpful?
  • Pay is probably slightly below market average. There is a bonus structure, but as a trainee it is difficult to hit targets because one has so little control over how much of one's time is billed.

  • Pay is not great, but the experience gained makes up for it.

  • While I was working in Southampton the pay was lower than I expected. However, since I have been on secondment in London the firm has arranged my accommodation and they refund some of my travel expenses so, overall, it is better.

    Helpful?
  • The pay is competitive for the area, but maybe less so for the quality of work that we are expected to undertake.

    Helpful?
  • The trainee wage is probably fair considering the location of the office; however given the increased cost of living generally, an increase in wage would be useful.

    Helpful?
  • We are paid a reasonable wage, although it is lower than some firms with which we align ourselves.
